Governance of a new school

The board of Unity Schools Partnership will keep close oversight of both the preparation for opening a new school and its successful operation through:

• An executive project group
• A dedicated Local Governing Body that will initially be heavily supported by the Trust central team as it recruits locally
• The board’s Standards Committee, that also includes national experts
• Regular reports to the trust board   

The Trust has welcomed external scrutiny to benchmark with other trusts, carry out a pre-opening review and also an external review of governance.
